March 02 Time is flying!Boy the time sure is flying. It seems the older I get the faster the time goes by. The Temperature out today is going to get to the hi 40"s so maybe no snow. I think another storm is on the way by Thursday though. If it is rain, that will be fine but I don't want any more snow! I'm ready for signs of spring to get here.
We went and got all the retirement paper signed and started in motion last week so only a few more things to do and we will be set. It is hard to belive we are old enought to retire since I still don't think of myself as old yet. I am looking forward to spending time with Jerry though. It will be nice to have him home. It may be kind of hard to work though since I will still be working until September. I'm sure we will do fine though. February 17 Snowing again todayThe winter!!!! It seems like it is never going away this year! It has been snowing since at least 3:30 AM that is when I got up. They are out snow blowing the walks now but it is still coming down. It looks like it will be June before it can all melt at this rate!. I guess I'll stay put in the house today. I sure don't want to be out driving in it today.
It's a good thing I have lot of projects started and a few good books to read so I have plenty to do today. I'm just taking a short break from work at the moment. My eyes are getting tired. Only 2 more hours to go and my 10 hours are up for work for today. Sure got lots accomplished though. Not many interuptions today. Then I get to do the fun stuff like my reading and crocheting! We'll have a nice quiet cozy warm day me and my puppy dog! February 10 february slowly marching onWell February is slowly making it's way. I just think Spring is slow in coming this year. I guess when I'm looking forward to my husband retiring in the Spring it can't come soon enough for me. He is not enjoyig his work like he used to and it is wearing him down more every day. They have a new big plant boss that is totaly unreasonable and acts like a dictator over his employees. I'm glad Jerry only has until the last day of April to go. I just feel bad for all the rest that have to stay for the durration. At least he is taking all of the Fridays off between now and then so he can be home when I am off. It will go fast now that it is under 3 months.
We had about 4 more inches if snow yesterday and 2 or 3 more this mornig. I'm glad that it isn't as cold as it as been so maybe it will melt soon. January 09 Winter againBoy the seasons sure come around fast! It is cold her and lots of snow again. The Christmas and New Year was fun and very exciting with all the kids around but now it has quieted down almost too much. I miss the little ones around. One of the cars has been out of commission so I haven't been able to go anywhere for over a month so I am getting cabin fever around here. Jerry leaves at 3:45 AM and dosen't get back until 5:45PM so I am stuck in the house for all those hours alone. He won't go anywhere when he gets home either because he has been gone all day and dosen't want to go out agin. I can't blame him but by the time he gets here it is dark and I am night blind so I can't drive the car to go on my own either. We get to go get milk or bread or whatever is necessary to get by for the next few days but not any real shopping until the weekend and then it is really hecktic to get it all done. I wish he would get the car fixed so I can get back to my normal routine. I just need a break from the house once and awhile so I don't go bonkers:) 
October 09 Fall is finally here!Fall is finally here! The weather is beautiful and cool out side. Infact the weatherman said we will have snow on our bench this weekend. I am ready for the change again. I love the holidays from Halloween to Valentines Day. Everyone is in a better mood and the stores and all the houses are so festive! I'm not sure if we will have a very big group for Thanksgiving or not because I know at least one of the families can't make it this year. Oh well we will still see them later. They will come for pie later. I think I would like to take a little trip though before it all starts. We are going for a few days up to Wolf Creek Resort for a short vacation in November and I'm looking forward to that. I think I'll need it after all this Election garbage is over with. I don't think there is anyone in Politics that you can trust any more! I know who I'm voting for but I'm not sure either canidate is conservitive enough for me. I know Obama isn't and I doubt McCain is either. Oh well I guess it is the lesser of 2 evils. I just wish people would really do what they say or would at least admit that they love our country. At least I believe McCain does that. I think Obama hates it here and would like to be in another country all together. I wish he were and then we wouldn't be in this mess. April 30 Yeah!I am so glad the weather had started to warm up. I feel so much better now that I can get out in the yard and sit or pull weeds or what ever I want to do. I have had enough winter for awhile.
We had a Birthday party for Matt, Jerry and Josh this weekend here at the house and we cooked out on the grill and ate outside. It felt so good to sit in the sun for a while. There were about 30 people here and we all had a great time. The only down thing that happened is that one of the grandkids and one of the nephews kids were horsing around in the masterbathroom and broke my towel rack off the wall and the TP holder off the wall. I guess it was time to replace them anyway. The house is 4 years old now. Kids just are too rough these days. Sometimes I don't think they relize how rough they are being. The kids are only 5 and 6. Oh well as the French say 'C'est la vie' Such is life. October 25 todayI sure feel much better today. I walked all the way aroun the Cottages today. That was a major feat since the surgery. I feel stronger and more sure on my poor old legs today. I will be watching my grand daughter tomorrow so I hope I feel good then too. She is a sweetheart and no trouble at all. Five years olds are so cute! I di some cute little dish cloth ideas and will try to get a picture and put them in my site so you can see them. October 01 Time for a warm afgan I guess It's time to curl up with a warm afgan and good book. I can't do much of anything else for a while. The stitches come out on Thursday and maybe the boot too. I think I may wait until after Christmas before I do the other leg. Maybe I'll be ready for it by then. Still have lots to do for Christmas gifts this year. I'll schedual the other surgery when I'm ready for Christmas.  September 21 more changesI am in for another learning experience this month. Today I will be going in to have my right ankle and calf muscle operated on.  It will be out patient surgery but will keep me down for a month or more and then it will be surgery for the left side too. I thought after 2 years ago having major back fussion surgery I'd be done for the rest of my life - but I guess not. I'll be posting my new projects since all I'll be able to do for a while is crochet or read. Thank goodness I enjoy both of these things July 09 CrochetThank Heavens for my Mother for teaching me to crochet! I think it has been the main thing that has kept me going these past few years since my back surgery. I am a mother of 7 so I was not used to sitting quiet and doing nothing. I can't even watch a show on TV without having a crochet project in my hands. I work from home as an Information Analyst for my job. I love my job and what I do but I'm still looking forward to when I can retire. Maybe a few more years is all.
